I have been invited to give a talk commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Cortesian map of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, originally published in Nuremberg in 1524, at USP.
This presentation draws from my forthcoming article, “Tenochtitlan Imagined: New Hypotheses on the Nuremberg Map,” which will appear in the Latin American and Latinx Visual Culture journal this October. The event is sponsored by the Universidade de São Paulo’s Centro de Estudos Mesoamericanos, Amazônicos e Andinos (CEMAA) and the LABORÍNDIO research group.
